The arrival of Winter in the PNW means frosty treetops, twinkling lights and trips to Schweitzer - but it also means cooler temperatures, and you may notice your skin isn't feeling as great as it did a few months ago in the sunshine. Here are my favorite tricks and easy upgrades to your current skincare routine to help keep you glowing and hydrated all winter long!

Cleanser - As days get colder, even those with oily skin may notice a drier feeling due to a lack of moisture in the air. Switch your summer's foaming cleanser to a creamier option, like Philosophy's Purity Made Simple Cleanser, which removes makeup without stripping skin of its natural oils.

Hydrating Sprays - Swap your drying toner for a hydrating spray containing skin soothing additions, like Face Aperitif Rose Mist by Wondergloss, which keeps you glowing with moisture-locking ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerin. Hydrating sprays can be used in between layering products, like after serum and moisturizer, or on their own throughout the day when your skin needs a pick-me-up.

Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate - Why is exfoliating so important? When your skin cells regenerate and turnover, the old dead cells will lay on the top of the surface of your skin. If you don't exfoliate, this layer of dead cells will prevent your skin from soaking up all of products you are putting on after you cleanse. In a nutshell: exfoliate 2-3 times a week and your skin will be able to drink up all of the hydration you're feeding it AND feel smoother! My favorite exfoliating mask is Cosmedix Glow Bamboo Mask. With bamboo stem extract to gently slough away dead skin cells and brightening Vitamin C and Niacinamide, this mask will give you a winter glow-up!
